Destruction of a House
This house, which caught fire recently, was being torn down a few days ago. On one day, after the destruction crew had left for the day, I decided to go in with a camera and capture what I could. Seeing the interior of a gutted house - with ripped up boards and a collapsed roof - that had so recently been a place of safety and refuge for a family really affected me. I imagined whoever lived there eating in the ripped-up rooms and sleeping in bedrooms that were now caved in. Whoever this family was - their childhood memories and the places they grew up in - all of it was gone - destroyed in a few hours.
